Featherly Ink principal Kevin Featherly served as a videographer during the production of Michael McIntee's brilliant documentary, "How Love Won," which chronicles the battle for marriage equality in Minnesota. The film premiered on April 12, 2016, at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival.

Featherly Ink began producing video in 2011 with the documentary, "This Is What Democracy Looks Like," which aired on public television stations in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Madison, Wis., where it was filmed.

Since then our work has been commissioned by Capitol Report/Politics in Minnesota; Think Piece Publishing; Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship; the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Minnesota chapter); and musician Adam Levy.

We also supplied footage to the filmmakers who produced the documentary, "How Love Won," a film that has been submitted for consideration by the Sundance and South by Southwest film festivals.

We also do audio production for video presentations, including voiceover recording and engineering and incidental music composition, performance and productions.

NAMI Walks MN

Featherly Ink made this short promo film for the National Alliance on Mental Illness—Minnesota (NAMI-MN) in 2015. It promotes the organization's annual NAMI Walks fundraising event, which helps the NAMI MInnesota to advocate for the mentally ill.

Janet Burroway: "Losing Tim"

This film was created as a promotional vehicle for "Losing Tim" (2014), a memoir by National Book Award nominee Janet Burroway. It was commissioned by Think Piece Publishing of Minneapolis.

A Conversation With Adam Levy (Part 1)

Adam Levy is one of the Twin Cities greatest songwriters and musicians. In June 2013, he sat with Kevin Featherly for an extended interview about the suicide of his son, Daniel, a promising young artist afflicted with mental illness. This video is the first of four parts of their conversation. The film was commissioned by Think Piece Publishing, which later released Adam Levy's first solo LP.

On Theodore Parker

Theodore Parker's groundbreaking 1841 sermon, "The Transient and the Permanent in Christianity," argued that Christianity was a passing phase and that all religions shared the same root moral impulses. Here, MVUUF's David Breeden is interviewed by Kevin Featherly, discussing the Parker legacy. Video editing and production by Kevin Featherly.

H&B: Music From a More Permissive Era

Starting out as a lark among a group of talented friends, H&B has rapidly become a Twin Cities institution. This mini-documentary provides a glimpse into the music and magic that makes H&B one of the finest, most entertaining concert bands in Minnesota.

Adam Levy: "Naubinway"

Musician and advocate Adam Levy moderated a panel on mental health at the University of Minnesota's Boynton School of Public Health. He concluded it with a performance of "Naubinway," his autobiographical song about the suicide of his son Daniel.
